Tintin's adventures were first translated into the now familiar English albums from 1958 and are now available in over 80 languages from Arabic to Icelandic, Chinese to Indonesian. As such, Tintin demonstrates the power comics have to transcend cultural and even political barriers.
Tintin's last adventure Tintin and Alph-Art was never completed as Herge died on March 3rd 1983, a few months short of his 76th birthday.
